Sasadango is one of Niigata’s best-known traditional Japanese sweets. Made by Minato Seika, a long-established Niigata confectionery maker founded in 1936, each dumpling features a soft and chewy mugwort-infused rice dough filled with gently sweetened, house-made chunky red bean paste. The dumplings are individually wrapped in fresh bamboo leaves harvested in Niigata, bringing together the subtle aroma of bamboo leaves, fragrant mugwort and the natural sweetness of azuki beans. Minato Seika’s special production method helps preserve the soft, pleasantly chewy texture even after frozen storage and natural thawing. 5 pieces (250g).
